Our Passion for Reuse & Recycling
You may not know that reuse is the best form of recycling. At Data Recycling of New England we prioritize reuse for recycling above all other methods of recycling. We try to make the pickup experience for our customers as efficient and easy as possible. As a result, customers may not always consider what happens once we receive their electronics. You also may not know that our company has invested significant time and resources to create internal programs to automate testing for reuse.
You may receive an automated message from us regarding managed and locked devices with a list of serial numbers. This is one facet of what Data Recycling of New England has done to give devices a new life. Reuse of electronics not only has a positive environmental impact, but it also helps maximize the value of electronics we receive, thereby reducing costs for our customers.
Electronics and devices that do not have reuse value are still sorted for recycling. Generally, we are able to recycle approximately 98.5% of the material that we accept. The material we receive daily can range from a few thousand pounds to as much as 35 tons.

Thomas “TC” Witherell, President
TC’s passion for electronics began at the age of 13 when he built his first computer. This early enthusiasm grew into a career in electronics recycling, where he first gained experience managing the testing and resale of electronics for a local recycling company. There, he discovered the immense value of repurposing electronics for resale and reuse, further solidifying his commitment to environmental sustainability—a commitment that traces back to his Boy Scout days organizing community cleanups.
With a strong educational foundation, including an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance, TC set out to bring his vision of responsible recycling to life. In 2016, he founded Data Recycling of New England. As President, TC is dedicated to delivering top-tier recycling services that not only meet but exceed customer expectations while making a positive impact on the environment.
